Day 4 - 17th Aug, 2015 - Sarchu - Leh

Distance covered: 257 KM
Places visited: 22 Turns, La-chungla Pass (16617 ft), Pang (15190 ft), Taglang-la Pass (17585 ft)

I opened my eyes in the morning and saw everyone is laughing from inside their blankets, I asked the reason then I got to know that Mannu went outside and touched the water to wash his face and the water was freezing and he ran and came inside the blanket, that was the funniest moment.

I was happy that somehow the night passed and now it's time to move ahead. I avoided water ;-) and just had one glass of boiling water whereas others had light breakfast.

This was the tent where we stayed in the night, the whole Sarchu was like this :-).

We left Sarchu and moved towards Pang village, again in the valleys surrounded my mountains, the scenic view was again outstanding, wherever I looked found just big mountains, river and valleys. The roads were full of land slides, extremely dangerous and adventurous.

We were moving ahead with light headache in the brain because of the high altitude. We were continuing  and after one than other Army bases passed in our way.

The curves of Pang we can't forget as it was so long, that the Pang became the most awaited destination of the journey. We were eagerly waiting for Pang, thinking that it will be the end of curves and then we will go staright. But guess what it was not when we reached Pang and had our lunch and were happy till the time Bhim bhai told us by pointing somewhere in the cloud and said we are going there. All of the sudden everybody was watching there(in the clouds) and suddenly we started laughing :D :D by looking each other.

Mannu was looking very tired so as others :P at that time.

While on the way we recalled Bhim bhai statement in which he said keep smiling :P, now I can understand why he said. Then at that point we regained our strength and reached out to the Mighty Taglang-la (17585 ft) - Second highest motor-able pass of the world.  It was the highest point we had ever experienced in our life till now so we were very excited. We stopped there and clicked lots of photos :-).

The scenic view was just breath taking, we felt in love with this pass.

After such a long tiring journey, the smile was again on our face.

After staying for around 30 mins, we moved ahead on our way to Leh, now the good news was that the roads are straight till Leh.

Slowly slowly Leh city was coming closer, the amount Army troops was increasing also.

Finally we were just outside the Leh city and the feeling was like we are entering into cold desert, which was true as well because there was lots of sand. The feeling was like, we are little bit closer to the sun :D as the sun was on its peak, but when the shade came it was cold.

And finally we are inside The City of Stupas.

Tired but still lots of energy keeping inside we reached out to the hotel "Sangto Green" in changspa area. It was the time to say Good Bye to Bhim Bhai, really a nice driver with so many good stories from his previous expereinces ;-), although Kaushik was quite interested in his stories :P.

The three things I noticed at the first glance in Leh:
  1. ARMY
  2. Foreigners
  3. Royal Enfield
We walked down the city for dinner and had Dosa in the evening, it sounds really funny to have Dosa in Leh but we walked 3 kms to and fro for this :P.

Finally back to bed and slept :-).

Next Day
